When is the Run?

Saturday, May 27th, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. sharp.  We run rain or shine!
The Cardiac Care 5K Walk/Run is always held each year on the Saturday following the May long weekend. 

How do I register for the Walk/Run?

* You can register online through the Running Room.
* You can also register in person at the Running Room, 2118 Albert Street 
* Registration forms can be mailed to:

What is the registration fee?

Registration fee is $20 to participate in the race

When does registration close?

* On-line registration closes Wednesday May 24, 2017 at midnight. 
* In-person registrations will be accepted at the Running Room until 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 26th.
*If we have not reached our max participants, you may register on the morning of the run at the registration booth.

Is there an early bird draw?

Participants who register before April 30/17, will be eligible for a special early bird draw. 

Where and when is race package pick up?

Race package pick up is Friday, May 26th, 2017 at the Running Room... 2118 Albert Street from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. 

What if I can't pick up my package Friday evening?

Race packages will still be available for pick up Saturday morning at the starting line at 9:00 a.m. 
Due to high volume of registrants to process, we don't encourage this unless absolutely necessary. 

Do I have to collect pledges to participate?

No. If you choose to not get pledges, your registration fee allows you to participate in the event. 

When and where do I submit my pledges?

Pledges are submitted at package pick up on the Friday evening prior to the race at the Running Room between 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. 
If unable to attend package pick up, pledges may also be submitted race day at the registration table at the starting line. Please make sure you come early on race day, if you are planning to bring pledges then. 

NEW THIS YEAR: 
*We are offering an online donation option. Once you have registered, you will received a confirmation e-mail and information to set up your own online donation page. You can then share this page with your friends & family, making pledges easier!

What are the pledges and donations used for ?

100% of the proceeds from the event will purchase much needed cardiac equipment for the unit and contribute to the education of CCU staff.

How much money do I need to raise to get a t-shirt?

A t-shirt is awarded to participants who raise at least $30 in pledges over and above the $20 registration fee...  a total of $50.00.  

When and where do I receive the t-shirt?

You will receive your t-shirt when you pick up your race bag, either on Friday from 4:00-8:00 PM at the running room or on the morning of the run.  For best size selection, try to attend Friday. 

If I want to make a donation to the run and not participate, how do I do that? 

Donations can be mailed to the Cardiac Care Unit (see address above), or dropped off in person at the unit. 

We also have an option for online donation where you can directly pledge a participant or make a general donation to the run. 

Is there food after the Run? Is it included?

Yes, there are many heart healthy snacks and beverages available immediately following the Run. This is all included in your registration fee. 


Can I push a stroller?

Yes …. This is a family event and we encourage all members walking or "strolling".

Are bikes and roller blades allowed on the route ?

No. Bikes and roller blades are not allowed on the route by our participants.

How old does my child need to be to participate ?

We accept children of all ages but they must be registered to be eligible to receive prizes. 

What are the prize categories?

Where does the run take place?
The run will take place at Wascana Park. We will be starting and finishing on Wascana Drive, next to the old UofR Building and Wascana Pool. Parking available onsite. See the forms tab for a posted run route!
